Tag...with Books. I’m Game!

Fiona at Books and ’Rocks has tagged me for the book meme. Here are the rules:

1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences, so if my math is correct that’d be sentences six, seven and eight.
5. Tag five people and post a comment to the blogger who tagged you (so in my case it’s Fiona and if I tagged you then you post here to my blog).

Here goes.

Nearest Book
The Law of Three, by Caroline Rennie Pattison, Dundurn Press, 2007

Page 123, Sentences Six, Seven, Eight

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Yes, you do. How many times have you vandalized their house, Nathan?”

So go investigate that terrific newly released Sarah Martin mystery. It's a great read.

And now I tag these bloggers:

Patricia Storms of BookLust
Alma Fullerton of Procrastination Purposes
Rebecca of Rebecca’s Writing Journey
Janie Bynum of Sketchy Words
Katie Davis of Brain Burps

And as I'm writing this, turns out Rebecca tagged me too. So double the tag from her and back again...does that mean anything? Extra brownie points for both of us??? And now Alma's been double tagged too...tag is rampant today!

Okay, I'm in! This is fun, and even more so for me, since I was holding my own book, gazing at it lovingly because it debuts TODAY! It's called The Curse of Addy McMahon, and page 123 happens to be a chapter break, so I took the previous page that had text.

The Curse of Addy McMahon, page 121, lines 6-8

I wouldn't have to give up writing.
But I did have to. I just couldn't chance anything ever getting mixed up again.

Hi, Lizann...I'm in, too!
*And I'm adding a Picture Book version, since the nearest book to me is a PB and I write and illustrate them...
*2. Find page 23 (may be harder than it seems since trade PBs aren't page-numbered. I started with the first page of text or illus as "page one". If page 23 is an illus only, try p. 22 or 24...)
**3 & 4. It's a picture book. Good luck finding a 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th sentence! : ) I say type the paragraph or sentences or verse...whatevah...

SO, here's my "tag" entry:

Hoberman and Frazee's SEVEN SILLY EATERS

p. 23:
She thought the children had forgot
Her special day--but they had not!
At crack of dawn they all began
To carry out their secret plan:
Mrs. Peters would be fed
A birthday breakfast in her bed!
A breakfast made of all the foods
That kept them in such happy moods.

Thanks, Lizann. Art tagged me already. My book was closest this time too. Art got to see non-fiction. Now you just have to figure out which blog I posted on. I have three (four actually if you count the amazon thing).

Hey Lizann,

I guess I can handle being tagged again. Since the closest books to me are a dictionary and a couple of writer's markets, I reached for the closest fiction book on the bookshelf. A Walk in Wolf Wood, by Mary Stewart (one of my childhood favorites).

I'll post the details on my blog. ;-)

And welcome to the blogging world, btw!
